This page is in tribute to Richard 'Dickie' Brown, the Club Scorer and former official scorer to the North of Scotland Cricket Association.
Dickie kept the book for the Club for 52 years and his efforts were recognised with him being awarded the Captain's Prize within the Club and the Macallan Achievement Award from the League Committee. Even at a ripe old age Dickie's books were always immaculate and his memory, without recourse to records, would leave Bill Frindall speechless.
Dickie liked nothing better than watching Buckie win then celebrating afterwards with a few drams of his favourite Uisquebaugh. He prefered that Buckie won, but he celebrated regardless. He was one of the few true characters of North cricket and was well known throughout Nosca.
Sadly Dickie's health detertiorated after the death of his wife Grace and he had not been able to keep the book since 2001.
His scorebook was finally closed on Saturday 30 August 2003 when he passed away aged 82 years.
Dickie will be sadly missed by all at the LGP.
